UIDAI Grievance Redressal

Grievances at UIDAI, HQ are received through following broad modes:-

Offline Mode

In this mode, grievances are received through post/hardcopy. The grievances are examined and then forwarded in hardcopy to concerned Regional Office/ Concerned Section at HQ after approval of Assistant Director General, who is Public Grievance Officer at UIDAI. The concerned Regional Office/Concerned Section disposes the grievance by replying directly to the complainant under intimation to the grievance cell, UIDAI, HQ. Interim replies, if required, are given by the concerned Regional Office/concerned Section at HQ.

Online Mode

In this mode, grievances are received through pgportal.gov.in. There are following modes within pgportal :-

  • DPG (Directorate of public grievances),
  • DARPG (Department of Administrative reforms & Public Grievances)
  • Parent Organization,
  • Direct receipts,
  • President’s Secretariat,
  • Pension,
  • Minister’s office,
  • P.M’s Office.

The grievances are examined and then forwarded online to concerned Regional Office/ Concerned Section at HQ after approval of Assistant Director General, who is Public Grievance Officer at UIDAI. Then, concerned Regional Office/Concerned Section disposes the grievance online. Interim replies, if required, are given by the concerned Regional Office/concerned Section at HQ.

Through E-mail

Many times, grievance is received through e-mails. These emails are examined and forwarded to concerned Regional Office/Concerned Section at H.Q through hard copy. The concerned R.O/Section at H.Q disposes the grievance by replying the complainant through mail under intimation to the grievance cell.

Through Contact Centre

The UIDAI has set up a Contact Centre. The users of this system are expected to be residents, registrars and enrolment agencies. Any resident seeking enrolment is given a printed acknowledgement form with an Enrolment Number, that enables the resident to make queries about her/his enrolment status through any communication channel of the contact centre.
