Yes, the OVSE is permitted to request and receive the last 4 digits of the Aadhaar number from Aadhaar Number Holder as part of the Aadhaar Verified Credentials through the Aadhaar App.
[The Terms and Conditions shall continue to apply on OVSE including the following provisions of The Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and Other Subsidies. Benefits and Services) Act, 2016:
Section 8A (3) An offline verification -seeking entity shall inform the individual undergoing the offline verification, or in case of a child, his parent or guardian, the following details with respect to offline verification, in such manner as may be specified by regulations, namely:--
- the nature of information that may be shared upon offline verification;
- the uses to which the information received during offline verification may be put by the offline verification-seeking entity; and
- alternatives to submission of information requested for, if any. ]
Can Offline Aadhaar data collected by registered OVSE be shared by respective OVSE with another entity?
Offline Aadhaar data collected by registered OVSE can be shared by respective OVSE with another entity subject to the following conditions
- the identity of each recipient and the specific verification purpose (e.g., loan application verification) are expressly disclosed in writing to the ANH at the time of offline verification;
- the ANH gives granular, informed consent to such onward sharing; and
- upon revocation of consent by ANH, OVSE shall ensure in a verifiable manner, end‑to‑end deletion of offline Aadhaar data and provide acknowledgement of the same to ANH.
