Mandatory Biometric Update (MBU)

1. When child attains an age of 5 years all biometric (Photo, Finger Prints and both Iris) data would be recorded. A de-duplication would be done for the child at this stage. This request will be treated similar to a new enrolment request while retaining the original Aadhaar number. This biometric update is free of cost.

2. When Aadhaar number holder attains age of 15 years, should furnish all biometrics (Photo, Finger Prints and both Iris) for update. This biometric update is free of cost.

(i) If done once between the age of 5 to7 years: Free
(ii) If done once between the age of 15 to 17 years: Free

Aadhaar number holder needs to visit an Aadhaar Enrolment centre, with Aadhaar number for Mandatory Biometric Update. Address of Aadhaar Enrolment centres is available at Bhuvan portal: Bhuvan Aadhaar Portal
